If you are not open to receiving help for problems or if you feel incompetent, aggressive leftist propaganda (I am apolitical), and/or if you don’t want to be helped by anyone. Although I didn’t finish my degree here, it was something that I was able to complete. It's great for the first year, but then it becomes hell. They claim that this page is not for a reason.
It is shocking to see how poor IT and computing degrees are. Most of the information is obsolete by at least 15-20 years. It is also promoted as a "computer science pathway", although it covers only the basics. At Level 3, project management is more important than any other skill. Your "self-reflection" as well as your "planning" will be assessed. It is as simple as writing down dates and times. It is possible that the actual project was not marked because it is difficult to find competent software developers to do so.
While I was working full-time as a college lecturer, my degree was complete in four years. The best part about the OU is your ability to choose whether you want to study full-time (or part-time), which suits your needs. The OU is also much cheaper than a traditional university. The OU has manuals and online resources for each module. I used them a lot, but didn't have the opportunity to attend any. These resources will assist you in your studies. Each module has around four assignments. There are also 2-3 mini-exams online. These assignments are open-book. The downside to the OU is the strict deadlines. Sometimes this can mean that work and social life have to be adjusted. Some OU lecturers were also irritated at my marking standards. In one module I got 89% for an assignment, while in another I got 59%. It was a pleasant, affordable, and enjoyable experience. I am now considering doing my masters at OU.
I have found many opportunities through the open university. I can study when I want and receive great support!
My second year was spent studying Business Management for my (BA). The OU is a wonderful institution. The OU provides support for students throughout their learning journey with well-designed study material. These materials include audio/video and recorded tutorials. They are also available 24 hours a days. The tutors were extremely helpful.
