The Malaysian Institute of Management was established as a voluntary society in January 1966. It was later incorporated as limited company in March 1975. MIM is the nation’s management organization. Its primary function is to promote management skills throughout Malaysia and expose Malaysian companies to best practices from around the world. It acts as a bridge between the public and private sectors. MIM is independent, non-political, and not-for profit. It serves as a platform to exchange management ideas and experiences, bringing together managers from all walks of the business world. MIM is also a training centre that promotes and maintains professional management standards. MIM’s core services include management education programmes that are designed to increase participants’ knowledge and skills. MIM course facilitators have extensive experience as practitioners, trainers, and consultants. They are all experts in adult learning methodologies. The programmes are tailored to the market and prepare individuals for future and current work requirements. MIM’s strength comes from its corporate and individual membership, which includes representatives from almost all areas of Malaysian economic activity. MIM awards Honorary Fellowships each year to exceptional individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of management.
